STUD SELECTION GUIDE PENETRATION RECOMMENDATION FOR TRAIL RIDING IS 1/4” - 3/8” (0.250”-0.375”) Deviating from this recommendation can result in premature track wear, tunnel damage and/or loss of control. LUG HEIGHT STUD SIZE PENETRATION LUG HEIGHT

STUD PATTERNS Know the following concepts. The track’s centre belt controls acceleration. The 2 smaller outside track belts contribute to acceleration, but the more studs you put in these belts, the harder it is to corner. 1.Check allowable clearances between track and tunnel or heat exchangers. Factor in suspension travel. (Trail riders should NOT use studs that exceed 3/8” above the highest point of the track.) 2.Do not place studs under the tunnel protector strips (directly above slide rails on underside of tunnel). Tunnel protectors are vital and must not be subjected to damage from studs. 3.V-Shaped stud patterns with the least repetition work best. Studs should cover as many different lines in the ice as possible. 4.Studs closest to the slide rails provide the most effectiveness, because the sled weight is concentrated in this area.

NOTE: Tunnel and/or Heat Exchanger Protec tion is required with all traction products. It is your responsibility to ensure proper clearances and adequate protection.

•Install studs no closer than 3/4” from edges of track. •Avoid center of track - poor support in this area.

PROTECTIVE

IMPORTANT STUDDING INFORMATION We recommend that you install one stud first and turn the track ALL THE WAY AROUND to make sure that there is proper clearance and that the stud protrudes the proper amount over the lug, after checking... then proceed to install the remainder of the studs. 1/4”-3/8” of stud height (the portion of the stud protruding above the highest rubber portion of the track) is ideal for trail riding.
